We will be meeting every Tuesday night and the third Tuesday of each month will be the pack meeting. Meetings are at 7:00 p.m. at the Penn Valley Elementary School's gymnasium. Penn Valley Elementary is located at 180 North Turn Lane in the North Park section of Levittown, near Millcreek Road and Route 13.
For a second year, Pack 100 marched in the Bristol Boro Holiday Parade. Partnering with the Exchange Club, the scouts marched and passed out flags to every child along the parade route. We passed out thousands of flags. It was a great showing of patriotism. The scouts also towed wagons to collect food along the route for the Scouting for Food program. The weather was brisk but the scouts wore long underwear under their uniforms so they could show off their colors. We had an excellent turnout and really showed the community what great scouting is all about.
Pack 100 did a wonderful job collecting food for this year's scouting for food drive. We collected over 800 pounds of food. The scouts collected food from family, friends, and neighbors to make this one of our most successful drives ever. The scouts even collected food when they marched in the Bristol Boro Holiday Parade.
A group of our Webelos I and II's went camping at Camp Ockanickon for the Pennsbury Fall Camporee. There was a little rain on Friday but then the weather really shaped up. Saturday and Sunday were sunny and mild. The boys participated in the sporting events. Our new scouts really got a taste of what real Boy Scout
camping is like. A lot more responsibility than cub scout camping.
Pack 100 went camping again at Blue Rock Campgrounds. Weather was pretty cold this time, okay, it was really cold. We had a great turnout. A good percentage of the new scouts and their families came. We had a group hike up to Pulpit Rock (3 Tigers and 2 Bears and their families). Others ventured to Crystal Cave, Cabellas, and Roadside America. We went fishing and climbed on the Blue Rocks. Since it was Halloween we did some things along that theme. We went on a hay ride to a farm and got pumpkins. We decorated the sites and did a Bobcat trick or treat. Bobcat trick or treat is when you have stations (tents) set up to quiz the scouts about the Bobcat requirements, successful scouts received lots of treats. Speaking of decorating the site, we did so well, we won the campgrounds contest. I think the scouts singing the Shark song and Roadkill Stew song put us over the top with the judges.
Pack 100 showed up in force for Falls Family Night at Falls Township Community Park on September 8th. We were there for a recruitment effort but also to have fun. The boys went back and forth from working and playing. Thanks to everyone for helping make it a great day.
Pack 100 went camping in August at Blue Rock Campgrounds. It was a blast. Weather was good and there was a ton of things we did. The gang hiked up the mountain onto the Appalachian Trail and to Pulpit Rock. From the scenic overlook, you could see for miles and miles. Everyone went fishing at the pond. We had a giant campfire. Sunday morning we had a big group breakfast to wrap up a great weekend.
August 3rd was our Trenton Thunder baseball game and sleep over. The Thunder were getting beat real bad at first but rallied over the course of the game and almost came back to win. Even though they lost, it made for an exciting game. Afterwards, we went out to our cars to get our camping supplies. The grounds crew roped off the outfield and we set up our camp in the outfield. We set up right under the score board which was where they showed the movie. There were hundreds of people, mostly scout and other types of youth groups. They played the movie Cars on the big screen and the boys had a blast playing catch and tag. Some went to bed at a reasonable hour but some stayed up VERY late.
July 8th was the packs trip to Philadelphia to ride on the Duck Tours. The tour is given in the historical section of Philly in an amphibious vehicle. 2/3 of the ride is by land but then, they drive down to Penn's Landing and down the boat ramp we went, into the Delaware River. It was great. After the tour, some of the group departed but others went on a hike. We walked down to Penn's Landing. While there, we went into the Nautical Museum for a free tour. Part of the tour included a tour of a real live submarine and passenger ship that were docked outside. That was really cool. After that we started hiking back. On the way we stumbled across an old fashioned ice parlor and had some of the best ice cream in the world. Once back at Independence Hall, the group split even further. Some left to go home, some went on a handsome carriage ride, and some went and saw the Liberty Bell and the Portrait Gallery of the Signers of the Declaration of Independence. Talk about a full day!
The end of year picnic was June 15th at 6:00 p.m. at FALLS TOWNSHIP COMMUNITY PARK. It was a great success. We played games, sang songs, handed out awards. We had a pleasant surprise when the Delaware Valley Veterans showed up as our honored guests. Not only did they present us with a really nice plaque in recognition of us helping out with their Flag Ceremony, they even manned the grill and cooked for us. Our hats are off to the Vets, thanks! The night finished up with the township setting up and showing E.T. for their kick-off evening of Family Movie Night.
On April 21, Pack 100 held an Earth Day Clean Up Project. We partnered with our host school, Penn Valley Elementary and the Falls Township Recreation Department to clean up North Pond Park in the North Park section of Levittown. This was our contribution to Earth Day and also in line with our Pack's ongoing commitment to Good Turn for America. Good Turn for America is a national program established to encourage people to do as many good deeds as possible to build civic pride.

We went camping at Camp Ockanickon for our spring camping trip on April 13, 14, and 15. We stayed at Ajapeau. It's a great site. Since Ajapeau is the campsite right on the lake, we did a lot of fishing. Friday night was bone-chilling cold but we toughed it out. There was a weather report of a record breaking Noreaster heading our way so we cut our camping short. Last group left at around 10 p.m. Saturday night (after campfire and smores, of course). It was a good thing we left, Sunday brought incredible rains. A rain gauge the scouts had made overflowed at 2/34 inches. Some areas got well over 5 inches of rain. Before we did leave, we had a perfect weather day on Saturday. We went on a nature walk. We found a few salamanders. We also found a complete deer skeleton. Later, we had an Easter egg hunt in the woods. Ricky and Brandon found the special eggs and got special prizes beyond the load of candy everyone found.
Pack 100 showed it's colors this year marching in the St. Patrick's Day Parade. We started with 25+ pounds of candy and ran out about 2/3 of the way. Next year we know to bring twice as much. The boys all proudly marched the whole way and did so without complaining or showing any signs of fatigue. That can't be said for all the leaders and parents. Some of them wanted to get pulled in the green wagon.
Our Webelos II scouts crossed over at our Blue and Gold ceremony in February. Congratulations to Anthony C., Brian D., Tommy H., Casey O., Timothy P., and Anthony W. Great job guys!
We have an ongoing Good Deed food drive we do. If you can, bring a can of food to every pack meeting. Look for the golden milk crate.
Saturday, September 15th, 2006, a group of Cub Scouts and leaders set up an information table at the festival. There were a lot of flyers handed out. The scouts alternated their time between recruiting and having fun. They played games, went on rides, ate free food, saw a hovercraft demonstration, got to climb into a Medivac helicopter, and even skipped rocks on the lake. The day wrapped up with a wonderful fireworks display. Thanks to all that came out and helped make it a great day of Scouting.
It all adds up, and every dollar earned saves you, the parents, in the long run. Savings like this and like the Can Drive, keep our dues low and allows us not to charge for books and awards.
